The Languages Department of Ada College of Education entertained about thirty (30) members of staff including members of management, as well as academic and non-teaching staff at an afternoon’s get-together at the Dornukie Restaurant, Heartland Hotel, Ada-Foah on 10th April, 2025. The Head of the Department, Mr. Gershon Kofi Ladzekpo said the Department had embarked on the novelty to strengthen friendships among staff, and offer them a rare opportunity to enjoy a meal together, socialise, and plan ahead. The delectable dishes served included banku with tilapia; akple with aborbi taadi; fufu with goat soup/chicken soup, jollof and fried rice with chicken; with pork chops for starters.

The Head of Department, Gershon K. Ladzekpo, informed the gathering that the Department had been doing such events on a low key in-house for its members only, every semester. However, for the first time, the decision had been taken to extend the invitation beyond its members to other stakeholders of the College, as a sign of unity and cooperation.
The Principal, Prof. Prince Boateng commended the Languages Department for the bold initiative and encouraged them to continue to give off their best. He proposed to the staff present to think along similar lines in drafting group grants for support, in aid of the College’s development. Both the Vice Principal, Dr. Nana Yaw Osei, and the Registrar, Francis Prince Ankrah, Esq., supported the Principal’s comments and gratification with the initiative.
The luncheon which was attended by 30 participants was sponsored by Gershon K. Ladzekpo, and Torgbui Ashiagbor IV with support from other members of the Department; and dexterously emceed by Mr. Vincent Bannor, a National Service person attached to the Department.

Present at the event were: Prof. Prince Boateng, Principal; Dr. Nana Yaw Osei, Vice Principal; Francis Prince Ankrah, Esq. College Registrar; Mr. Eric Kweku Nuertey, Acting Internal Auditor; Mr. Simon Kpodo, Acting Finance Officer; Mr. Gershon Kofi Ladzekpo, Head, Department of Languages; Dr. Eunice Osei-Asibey, Head, Department of Mathematics & Computer Studies; Mr. Alfred Doh Nukpetsi, Head, Department of Education; Mr. Alex Okyere, Head, Vocational Technical Department; and Mr. Michael Zonyira, HoD Representative, Science Education. Others were Mr. Felix Asante Larbi, STS Coordinator, Academic Affairs Officer, Mr. Enoch M. K. Awudza, and other members from the various departments and units.

Ms Rose Srem-Sai, a member of the Languages Department, eruditely delivered the vote-of-thanks, while Rev. Reuben Aborchie, College Chaplain, gave the closing prayer to draw the curtains down on the very exciting event at 4:30 pm.
