SRC

The importance of unity cannot be overemphasized because unity is strength. The quest for a united students’ front gave birth to the Ada College of Education Students’ Representative Council (S.R.C.). As a platform for the representation of students’ views, and to champion their course, the SRC became beckon of hope of trainees and also a partner in the development of the College.

Motto

The motto of S.R.C. is “Solving Our Problems.”

Status

S.R.C as the highest student body is democratic, non-partisan, no-tribal, non-religious and independent in its dealings with both students and other stakeholders

Membership

Students admitted into the College automatically become members of the Association, and therefore all trainees are eligible to participate in any activity of the S.R.C. currently, membership of the Association stands at Eight Hundred Ninety-Nine (899) trainees.

Objective

ADACOE SRC exists to:
1. champion the course of trainees in the College.
2. seek the welfare of students, and promote their rights and responsibilities.
3. promote co-operation, understanding and friendship among students of the College, and other student bodies in Ghana and abroad, so far as the aims and objectives of such bodies conform to the S.R.C.
4. promote discipline and high academic performance among students.
5. encourage social programmes among teacher trainees.
6. assist the authorities of the College to develop and help find solutions to problems as and when they arise.

Achievements

Over the years, the eminent ADACOE SRC has achieved a lot in academics, assisting in the College’s physical development, and supporting trainees in diverse ways. We have won the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG), Eastern- Greater Accra (EGA) Sector`s famous Quiz and Debate Competition for five (5) consecutive times in debates session, and won the first price of the quiz for the just ended competition, 2020. Under the SRC is an Academic Board whose members are always prompt in supporting trainees pass their examinations with distinction.
In terms of development, the SRC has contributed its quota to develop our prestigious College. The SRC has constructed pavement around the classroom blocks, constructed multi-purpose sports complex, tiled bath houses, and provided resting places (lovers’ benches). We also purchased SRC bus for the use of both the students and College Management. Currently, the S.R.C. is building its luxurious Secretariat.

Clubs & Associations

Currently, there are four (4) vibrant clubs, Might and Tongues of Inspiration, Writers and Debaters, Science and Maths and the ADACOE Police Cadet. There are also about eighteen (18) Religious Denominations on campus that build the spiritual life of all trainees of ADACOE.
The Writers and Debaters Club has won the Debate competitions organise at the Eastern-Greater Accra, EGA Sector on five different occasions. They also won the Debate competition for three consecutive years, thus, 2015, 2016 and 2017. The Maths and Science Club, for the first time in the history of this noble College, has won the first prize of the Quiz Competition in 2019/2020 academic year.
We believe without a shred of doubt that we will soar high in subsequent competitions. The S.R.C. is proud of its Clubs due to their outstanding performances in the Sector’s event. We appreciate the effort of our hardworking patrons of the various Clubs. They are the backbone of the success we are boasting of today
