Ada College of Education continues to thrive in vision and impact, and we are thrilled to mark a significant milestone that underscores our unwavering commitment to academic excellence and student leadership. On August 30, 2025, the College proudly inaugurated the Mathematics Students’ Association (MaSA), a dynamic new organization dedicated to fostering mathematical thinking, unity, and innovation among our students.
The inauguration ceremony, held at Gbanya on the AdaCoE campus, brought together distinguished guests from academia, traditional leadership, government, and religious circles.

Under the leadership of our Principal, Professor Prince Boateng, alongside Vice Principal Dr. Nana Yaw Osei and Registrar Francis Prince Ankrah, Esq., we were honored to welcome esteemed scholars from the University of Education, Winneba, including Professor Peter Akayuure, who delivered an inspiring keynote address. Traditional leaders such as Nene Osusey Ackwerh II and Torgbui Asamoah V, government officials including Hon. Comfort Doeyo Cudjoe Ghansah, Member of Parliament for Ada East Constituency, and Hon. Kenneth Kabu Kofi Kanor, District Chief Executive of Ada East District, as well as Evangelist Joshua Dugah of the Global Evangelical Church—who also lectures at the College—added great prestige to the occasion.

The event, themed “Solving Life’s Equations: The Power of Mathematical Thinking,” featured a rich program comprising prayers, speeches, and an engaging drama entitled “The Equations of Life: Finding X and Y to Success.” The ceremony opened with a prayer led by Evangelist Dugah, followed by a warm welcome address from Professor Boateng, who chaired the event. Hon. Comfort Cudjoe pledged unwavering support, both financial and in-kind, and encouraged other academic disciplines to emulate the exemplary initiative set by the Mathematics students. In her Patron’s address, Dr. Osei-Asibey shared the vision behind MaSA’s formation, while Professor Akayuure’s keynote speech illuminated how mathematical reasoning can transform real-world challenges.
A captivating drama performance, “The Equations of Life: Finding X and Y to Success,” creatively illustrated the power of mathematics in everyday life. The official inauguration of MaSA was conducted by Evangelist Dugah. The new executive team was then formally inducted, receiving their stoles of office from Hon. Comfort Doeyo Cudjoe Ghansah, Member of Parliament for the Ada East Constituency.

MaSA’s formation is the result of months of dedicated planning and collaboration. Dr. Osei-Asibey, together with the Mathematics & Computer Studies Department, envisioned a platform to unite students in their quest for academic excellence, leadership growth, and practical engagement with mathematics.
The Association’s constitution was thoughtfully crafted to embody these goals, adopting the motto “Equipping Minds to Solve Life’s Problems” and the slogan “Your X and Y to Success.” A distinctive logo, designed by Level 400 student Mr. Godwin Appiah, now proudly features on MaSA’s official letterheads, executive sashes, and customized Lacoste shirts.

To ensure strong governance, six pioneering student leaders were carefully elected to guide MaSA’s future: Mr. Joshua Tetteh Kabu (President), Ms. Ruth Djanie (Vice President), Ms. Anita Narteh (Secretary), Ms. Esther Kumordzi (Financial Secretary), Ms. Ruth Korkor Gota (Treasurer), and Mr. Seechrist Edem Sadekla (Organizing Secretary).
Goodwill messages from respected figures, including Vice Principal Dr. Nana Yaw Osei, Nene Osusey Ackwerh II, Chief of Ada Foah, and Torgbui Asamoah V, centered on themes of discipline, frugality, healthy living devoid of recreational drugs, and unnecessary debt, as well as the pursuit of scholarship and excellence.
The success of the inauguration was made possible thanks to the generous support of our lecturers, the strong collaboration of College leadership, and the enthusiastic participation of students, including guests from ADASCO and ASTECH. It was a day marked by unity, pride, and tremendous promise.
