On Thursday, February 26, 2026, the Management of Ada College of Education, together with the Executives of the Old Students Association, officially received the refurbished J.M.T. Dosoo Library during a brief but meaningful ceremony held on the College campus at Ada Foah. The renovation, which lasted two months and was carried out by Messrs LexyEddy Construction Company Limited, has transformed the library into a modern academic facility.

The east wing has been converted into a sixty-computer capacity e-library, while the entire open-air structure has been enclosed and air-conditioned to protect it from the corrosive effects of the sea breeze. Other improvements included the replacement of the main wooden doors with steel roller shutters, the reinforcing of the windows with aluminium glass frames and burglar-proofing, the replacement of rotten fascia, roof, and ceiling structures, spraying of the reading desks, provision of new seating furniture, polishing of the terrazzo floor, and repainting of the building.

In his remarks, the Principal of the College, Professor Prince Boateng, expressed his hope that the renovated facility would attract more students and serve as a hub for both academic and extracurricular activities. He assured stakeholders that Management would ensure the library is used effectively and tasked the Librarian with overseeing the facility with diligence and care.

The ceremony was attended by senior College officials and representatives of the Old Students Association. Among those present were Dr. Nana Osei Yaw, Vice Principal; Francis Prince Ankrah, Esq., Registrar; Mr. Eric Kweku Nuertey, Internal Auditor; Mr. David Doe Ayornoo, Acting Librarian; Mr. Charles Asem-Deku, Acting Head of the Estates Unit; Mr. Frank Kinski Mikado, Acting Head of the Procurement Unit; Dr. John Cobbinah, Director of the contracting firm; Reverend Charles Akafia, President of AdaCOESA; Mr. Felix Glandfield Teye, Financial Secretary; Mr. Gabriel Buertey Laweh, Assistant General Secretary; Mr. Emmanuel Tsevi Davor, Senior Technician; Ms. Doris Otuko Anim, Principal Library Assistant, and the SRC led by its President, Mr. Solomon Tornyi.

The handover of the refurbished J.M.T. Dosoo Library marks a significant milestone in the College’s efforts to enhance its academic infrastructure. It also reflects the productive collaboration between Management and the Old Students Association in promoting educational excellence at Ada College of Education. The original library building was financed by GETFund and completed in May 2004 under the leadership of former Principal Mr. Isaac Sagoe.
