The 4th Governing Council of Ada College of Education was formally inaugurated on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, by the Honourable Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, at the Conference Hall of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission in Accra. In his address, the Honourable Minister urged the newly constituted Council to channel their expertise into shaping policy and strategic direction, rather than involving themselves in the day-to-day operations of the College. He outlined government plans for targeted interventions in staff development and accommodation, alongside a broader commitment to strengthening infrastructure and logistics to support the College’s mandate as a degree-awarding institution of higher learning.

The Council is chaired by Mr. Logosu Amegashie, a Clinical Psychologist and Drug Counsellor at the Addictive Diseases Unit of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. It is composed of a distinguished and diverse group of professionals and institutional representatives, including Prof. Prince Boateng, Principal of the College; Prof. Humphrey Danso, representing the affiliate university, AAMUSTED; Dr. Eunice Osei-Asibey, representing the teaching staff; Mr. Frank Kinski Mikado, representing the non-teaching staff; Mr. Felix Glandfield Teye, representing the Old Students Association; and Mr. Solomon Tornyi, President of the Students’ Representative Council. Additional representation comes from Mrs. Mabel Dzigbordi Abraham of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC); Ms. Evelyn Osam-Pinanko of the Ghana Education Service; and Mrs. Monica Efe Tettey of the National Teaching Council. The Council is further enriched by
three presidential nominees: Prof. Martha Osei-Marfo, Madam Dorothy Terkperkie Agblo, and Mr. Azeriya George Ayeriga.

Supporting the Council in a non-voting capacity are three key administrative officers: Francis Prince Ankrah, Esq., Registrar of the College and Secretary to the Governing Council; Dr. Nana Yaw Osei, Vice Principal; and Mr. Simon Kpodo, Acting Finance Officer.
As part of the inauguration proceedings, members of the Governing Council solemnly swore both an Official Oath, to uphold the law establishing the Council, and an Oath of Secrecy, pledging to maintain confidentiality regarding official matters discussed in the course of their duties.

The Chairman of the Governing Council expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic, the Minister of Education, and the Director-General of GTEC for the confidence placed in the Council. He pledged, on behalf of all members, to serve with diligence, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the advancement of Ada College of Education.
